  • Canonicals

    Mind breaks up language into nodes and links that connect at specific points to create a triangular form we call a canonical. Words can be placed in specific positions, as seen by the symbols in the graphic. The placement of these symbols represents one level of semantics and it is fundamental to their logic.

  • Augmented Topological Network

    We call our network "augmented" because a node can interchangeably be a link, a link a node, and a canonical can either be a link or a node. This enables the engine to perform deductive, inductive, and abductive reasoning at many levels. Mind is able to not only identify what data it needs in order to perform its logic, but it is also able to share and reveal all of the logical processes, which are completely human-readable and transparent. In contrast, older and more brittle AI models broke when presented with any novel inputs.

  • Contextualization

    When we read, sometimes we infer meaning of words or a situation based on the context clues within a text. In the same way, information makes sense to Mind only when it is contextualized. For example, the word love can be used in a variety of ways, and it would be difficult for software to determine if the word is being used to describe a platonic, romantic, or any other type of love without context. Mind is able to discover or derive the context from the principles of how the arrangement of the canonical implies meaning.

  • Metatheoretics

    Mind will accumulate domain specific and universal ontologies in natural language and there will be two important turning points in this period. The first is Critical Mass, in which Mind will be able to seek out and accumulate knowledge on its own. The second is Metatheoretics, when Mind will independently conduct experiments, creating its own theories and hypotheses. It is at this time that humanity will be able to utilize the full power of Mind to purse a new level of prosperity.

We've been busy spreading our vision and passion.
  • In what stage is Mind's current development?
    Currently, we have a working MVP. We will begin live testing of its application use with a few partners starting in Q4 2018, and we plan to go live with the Mind ecosystem in 2019 assuming we secure our necessary funding by reaching the hard cap. Upon its live release, Mind will have required roughly fourteen years of R&D. It is important to note that Mind is not a fixed engine with a fixed set of rules and behaviors. It has the capacity to expand its knowledge of the world, and further its own growth and development. Therefore, when referring to Mind’s development, we can look at it as an ever evolving tool, always learning, improving, updating, and branching out into new domains. In order to scale the growth and further development of Mind, to allow it to reach its fullest capacity, we too must open up. This is why we need the community, and why we are creating the Mind ecosystem, Scientists are well known for having large budgets, coming together from all walks of the planet and joining together to figure things out. The very nature of their approach to solve problems is exactly what must be done for AI, and essentially the planet as a whole. We aim to share the Mind engine and ecosystem so that these AI advances can really benefit society; we aim to collectively improve the well-being of everyone and everything everywhere.
  • What's the reason behind the name OMAI token?
    The name OMAI comes from combing the words "one", "mind", and "AI". We chose this name because we are all within a singular universe, a single planet, coexisting in our own experience. Our mind, our human evolution has grown from the singular ability of the human mind to reason, to think beyond survival, and to reach instead for a thriving life. OMAI values the embodiment of human morals, and represents our collective effort towards prosperity as one.
  • Why do you need blockchain?
    Creating a democratized AI ecosystem requires a number of necessary components, many of which were not available or were inefficient prior to blockchain technology. Here are the most important factors required for the Mind AI ecosystem that blockchain addresses: Immutability - Ontologies need to be immutable. In the course of collecting ontologies, many inaccurate and low-quality ontologies will be submitted. There will be facts that become obsolete or proven otherwise. However, these "bad" ontologies are just as important to Mind AI as the "good", high-quality ontologies. This is because Mind AI constantly learns through contextualization. Ontologies will not become obsolete, even if they contain outdated facts. They will instead just contain a different context, which is important for Mind AI, as new ontologies will provide context for new information and therefore explain why the other ontologies are inaccurate. Mind AI needs the history to learn, as part of its knowledge base will detail why things are wrong. Immutability allows this history to remain untouched, and unaltered. Global Reward System - Though borders are meaningless in the digital world, global payments across borders are still extremely slow, expensive, and complicated. A tokenized economy allows a fast, inexpensive, and transparent reward system for every agent in the Mind AI ecosystem. This is critical for an ecosystem that thrives on a large-scale global participation. Transparency and Democracy - Blockchain technology allows for transparent system. This is important to the Mind AI ecosystem in two ways. The first is for reward distribution. A smart contract based reward distribution system will be transparent and the community can be sure that everyone is getting rewarded fairly and accurately. The second need is for community voting. When the community comes together to vote on Ethical Upper Ontologies, the priority of ontological bounties, or triggering the kill switch, the entire voting system must be transparent to show that the democratic system is not being played for one party's advantage.
